WORLD CUP SERIES HAS PERFECT 2009 FINALE IN PUTRAJAYA MALAYSIA

This 29th Stop of the Waterski & Wakeboard World Cup Series ended with perfection on many fronts. In temperatures reaching 35C, the 51 athletes from 15 countries were provided with outstanding facilities in Putrajaya Malaysia for this last event of the 2009 World Cup calendar. Based at the Putrajaya Watersports Complex, a short distance from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, an estimated 20,000 spectators attended over the November 7/8 weekend. As a vacation destination, it is certainly one not to be missed!

We are proud to announce that the final round of 2009 Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Championship Round 4 is to be held in conjunction with the 2009 IWSF Putrajaya Waterski World Cup on the 7th of November.
However, due to the time constraints, we are limited to run only 4 categories which are the following:
1.0 Novice Slalom (Girls 18 & Under)
2.0 Novice Slalom (Boys 18 & Under)
3.0 Novice Wakeboard (Girls 15 & Under)
4.0 Novice Wakeboard (Boys 18 & Under)

The second edition of the Putrajaya Waterski World Cup scheduled to be held on the 6th to the 8th of November in Putrajaya’s Presint 6 Water Sports Complex had brought a sudden windfall to young Malaysian skiers in the form of shortboard champion Herman Beliakou.
Current Dubna World Cup Shortboard champion and last year’s Putrajaya’s World Cup second runner up, Herman Beliakou of Belarus will be in Putrajaya a whole week earlier than all other World Cup entries to help coach Malaysia’s young trainees from the under 15 and under 10 squads ….. read more HERE

Round 2 of the 2009 Malaysian Water Ski Federation National Waterski & Wakeboard Championship was held in conjunction with the “Ministry of Youth & Sports Putrajaya Water Sports Carnival” from 12-14 June 2009.
There were more than 40 canoe/kayak, rowing and long boats events so waterski & wakeboard were limited to only 6 events due to time constraints ….. read more HERE

The Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Championship resumes this weekend with round 2 being held once again in Putrajaya’s Water Sports Complex in Presint 6 on 13-14 June 2009.

The course will be on the other side at Maritime Centre as this round will be held in conjunction with the Ministry of Youth & Sports WATER SPORTS CARNIVAL 2009
The event (round 2) is expected to be smaller than round 1 as there are limited time available and limi ted resources available to hold 4 evemts over the same period. The other events to be concurrently held are DRAGON BOATS, CANOEING AND KAYAKING. Therefore, the schedule of both Saturday and Sunday might have later adjustments to them in order so we can run all these events together ….. read more HERE

Malaysia came away winners in six out of eight age group titles in the first national waterski & wakeboard championship organized by Malaysian Water Ski Federation (MWSF) at Putrajaya last weekend.
The “Putrajaya Waterski & Wakeboard Junior Cup,” the first round of the 4-round 2009 championship, ran with a full schedule of eight age group waterski & wakeboard events and three-events for immediate and open skiers and riders.
The winner in the 10 and under mini-slalom event for boys is Syahir Nasir, 10, who led a Malaysian clean sweep of podium places with 8-year-old Hadi Irfan in second and Anakin Ali, 7, in third ….. read more HERE

AALIYAH YOONG, AGE 5, BECOMES YOUNGEST MONO SKI TRAINEE IN PUTRAJAYA

Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah, the 5-year-old daughter of Hanifah Yoong and Nozie Sulaiman followed their parents water skiing a few months ago starting with kneeboarding.
