AALIYAH YOONG HANIFAH BREAKS 3,000 POINTS IN TRICKS WITH A SCORE OF 3,120 POINTS ON 04 DEC 2010

Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah, age 7, from Putrajaya, Malaysia did her first over 3,000 points waterski tricks runs under competition environment with a score of 3,120 points at 11am on 04 December 2010. Her toe run shown here scored 1,760 points while her hand run shown in the previous video scored 1,360 points.

Next week, she will be Muscat bound for the 2nd Asian Beach Games with the Malaysian team.

Having first started riding trick skis only in January this year, Aaliyah’s progress is considered rather phenomenal to reach 3,000 points in less than 10 months ….. read more HERE

SEVEN YEAR OLD AALIYAH BREAKS NATIONAL WATERSKI OPEN SHORTBOARD RECORD TWICE

Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah, 7, stole the show from the adult open skiers today in the Shortboard Open Women event in the Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard championship in Putrajaya today by breaking the national women shortboard record twice in one day.

She first broke Phillipa Yoong’s national record of 2,100 points set in Jakarta’s Asian championship last month by chalking up a score of 2,200 points in the women open shortboard event in the morning and then proceeded to raise the bar even further with a score of 2,790 points when she competed in the under 17 event with 6 other Indonesian and Malaysian competitors ….. read more HERE

Next weekend will be the grand finale of the 2010 waterski & wakeboard season in Malaysia’s premier water sports centre.

Rd 4 of the Malaysian championships will be held from 12 to 14 Nov (8am to 6pm each day)

Highlights:

1.0  China’s Shu “Sky” Zhenyi 2006 Asian jump champion and current China’s champion for last 6 years will attempt to take gold from Indonesian stars Zahidi Putu and Maliki Zulkarnain. All jump beyond 45m!

2.0   Indonesia’s women jump champion Endar Pupul who beat Malaysia’s Phillipa Yoong (Malaysian jump, slalom & tricks champion) by mere centimetres with a leap of 29.9m leap in the October 2010 Asian championship will renew their close rivalry with the favourite title of who will win next year’s 2011 SEA Games jump gold at stake ….. read more HERE

PHILLIPA YOONG'S NEW RECORDS RATIFIED AS SIBLINGS RIVALRY CONTINUES

The Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (MWWF) has yesterday officially ratified two new national waterski records for women slalom and women tricks set by 31 year old mother of two Phillipa Yoong.

The new women slalom record of 2 buoys @ 55kph @ 14.25 rope line recorded by Phillipa in Rd 3 of the Malaysian Championship held in Putrajaya on July 2010 beats the long standing previous record by one buoy @ 14.25m line. JUNIOR SKIERS AALIYAH AND HANIS IN WOMEN TRICKS TOP 10 WITH HADI IN MEN TRICKS TOP 15

Malaysia’s national waterski team comprising veteran Phillipa Yoong and three young skiers Hanis Azemi (11 yrs), Hadi Irfan Rahaizah (10) and Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah (7) returned from Jakarta’s 2010 Asian Australasian & Oceanian championships yesterday with impressive results.

Phillipa stunned favourites emerging second in the women’s overall title for slalom, jump & tricks combined and snatched the women slalom bronze in the Asian championships while Malaysia’s very young skiers competing in the open events outside Malaysia for the first time impressed greatly with top 10 in women tricks and top 15 in men tricks ….. read more HERE

PHILLIPA YOONG TO PARTICIPATE IN 3 EVENTS & TARGETS SLALOM MEDAL

Malaysia’s national waterski team comprising veteran Phillipa Yoong and three young skiers Hanis Azemi (11yrs), Hadi Irfan Rahaizah (10) and Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah (7) will leave for Jakarta on Monday 4th October after winding up their training today and packed their skis at the MWWF national training centre in Putrajaya.

The Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (MWWF) has made the selection for the national team to represent Malaysia in the 2010 IWWF Asian Australasian Oceania Waterski Championships to be held in Jakarta from the 4th to the 10th October 2010.

Round 3 of the 2010 Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Championship has attracted a host of present and former waterski & wakeboard stars amongst the record entries heading for Putrajaya next weekend.

Malaysia’s former Formula 1 racer, Alex Yoong, has confirmed participating in all 3 events of slalom, shortboard and jump next weekend. This will be his first competition in waterski after a 13 year layoff. He is however expected to shine as he has been back in training in the last few weeks in Putrajaya ….. read more HERE

Round 3 of the 201016 Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Championship will be held in Putrajaya’s Presint 6 Water Sports Complex from the 16 to 18 July 2010 .

The event organized by the Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (MWWF) jointly with Waterski & Wakeboard World Cup Sdn Bhd, as the event promoter has already attached 21 entries with a month to go before the event.

The entries received so far comprised 73 entries from 7 countries with surprised entries from Kuwait. As of the 20th of June, the 73 entries received are from Singapore (SIN) – 16, Kuwait (KUW) – 6, Indonesia (INA) – 6, Great Britain (GBR) – 2, France (FRA) – 2, Hong Kong (HKG) – 0, Malaysia (MAL) – 39 ….. read more HERE

Each event category is RESTRICTED TO A MAXIMUM OF 6 ENTRIES ONLY

ANAKIN ALI STARS WITH NEW SHORTBOARD RECORD FOR UNDER 10 WATERSKIERS

Round 2 of the 2010 Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Championship held last weekend from the 14th to the 16th of May in Putrajaya produced eight winners in the shortboard, slalom and wakeboard events.

The star of the weekend was 8-year-old Anakin Ali who scored a record 900 points in the shortboard event for boys and girls under 10. He was followed home by Hadi Irfan Rahaizan,9, with 660 points and six-year-old Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah at 520 points ….. read more HERE

FORMULA 1 DRIVERS FLY HIGH IN PUTRAJAYA'S WATERSKI & WAKEBOARD CENTRE

Last week, we had Malaysia’s former F1 Driver Alex Yoong get back on the water once again at the famous Putrajaya Waterski & Wakeboard Centre jumping the ramp. Yesterday we had HRT Formula 1 Team Hispania’s drivers, Bruno Senna and Karun Chandhok, wakeboarding and enjoying themselves taking lights on the tube in the pristine waters of Putrajaya.

Brazilian Bruno Senna is the son of Ayrton’s sister Viviane. Back in 1983, Ayrton was interviewed after a Go-Kart Race and he made the following statement, “If you think I’m fast, just wait till you see my nephew Bruno” read more HERE

HONG KONG SWEPT MAIN EVENTS WHILE MALAYSIA WIN BIG IN AGE GROUP EVENTS

Hong Kong swept both golds in the open events for slalom and wakeboard in round 1 of the 2010 Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard championships held in Putrajaya last weekend.

Cheng Wai Nam won the open slalom for men & women a keen tussle with Malaysia’s number one skier resulting in a tied result of 7.5 buoys (7.5 buoys) which had to be broken with a run off which Cheng won. Cheng then got his double when he swept the field in the open wakeboard event for Men & Women with a score of 62.56 points ….. read more HERE

2009 IWWF Asian Wakeboard Champion and World’s top 10 Wakeboarding star, Padiwat “Bomb” Jaemjan will be returning to Putrajaya this Friday to thrill the waterski & wakeboard crowd in round 1 of the Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Championship.

Round 1 of the 2009 Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard National Championship promoted by the Malaysian Water Ski Federation (MWSF) and scheduled for the 26-28 March at the Water Sports Complex in Presint 6 in Putrajaya has received 51 entries from 8 countries.

MWSF KICKS OFF 2010 CHAMPIONSHIP WITH RD 1 IN PUTRAJAYA ON 26-28 MARCH

The Malaysian Water Ski Federation (MWSF) will kick off the four round 2010 Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Championship with round 1 to be held at the Putrajaya Water Sports Complex next weekend from the 26th to the 28th March.

The events will comprise slalom and wakeboard for open and intermediate skiers as well as age group novice slalom events for boys and girls under 10 and under 15. 1.0  With immediate effect, our operational base has now changed from the present “Public Swimming Pool” area in the Putrajaya Water Sports Complex in Presint 6 to a short distance’s away along the same waterline at the brand new “Maritime Centre” located in Presint 5. 2.0  This location offers everyone an enhanced level of service as F&B outlets will be opening very soon there while catering services for team building and coporate PR functions as well as birthday parties can be easier in being arranged.
