It has been another challenging and exciting 2008 season for the Waterski and Wakeboard World Cup Skiers and Riders. Having celebrated the 26th successful World Cup Stop and final at the 2008 series in Doha, Qatar last weekend, the International Water Ski Federation (IWSF) released the overall season points scores today. The very first official guests at the Putrajaya Hotel arrived on site yesterday to a warm welcome and some cold coconut milk – and they were all World Cup Waterskiers! PUTRAJAYA MALAYSIA TO HOST 25TH WATERSKI WORLD CUP STOP

On November 7/9, the International Waterski Federation (IWSF) will celebrate the staging of its 25th Waterski World Cup Stop in a truly spectacular location. Situated just a short distance from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Putrajaya Lake promises to be a revelation to many in the watersports world. Putrajaya is a magnificent planned city and is the new federal administrative centre of Malaysia. Founded as recently as 1995, it was constructed on the site of the famous old rubber plantations and is now located in the centre of what is known as Malaysia’s Multimedia Super Corridor. A high speed rail link to Kuala Lumpur International Airport also provides easy access for visitors. The Putrajaya Water Sports Complex is now the only waterski & wakeboard centre that has an IWSF homologated slalom course in Malaysia.

IWSF’s Homologator, Nigel Talamo, had been in Putrajaya this month to supervise the set up of the 3-event course at the Putrajaya Waterski World Cup site. The course for slalom, tricks and jump events were successfully installed at the World Cup site. IWSF ANNOUNCED "PUTRAJAYA - MALAYSIA" AS LATEST VENUE FOR THE 2008 IWSF WATERSKI AND WAKEBOARD WORLD CUP SERIES

Kuno Ritschard, President of the International Water Ski Federation (IWSF), recently announced PUTRAJAYA, the administration capital of malaysia, as the latest new venue for the 2008 IWSF Waterski & Wakeboard World Cup series.

Putrajaya will host the fifth stop of the six-stop 2008 calendar from the 7th to the 9th of November at the state-if-the-art Putrajaya Water Sports Centre at Precinct 6 overlooked by the imposing Putrajaya International Convention Centre.

The events involved will be Slalom, Shortboard and Jump and will feature the world’s top ranked men and women elite competitors ….. read more HERE

THE IWSF COACHING SEMINAR (21-23 NOVEMBER 2008, CHINA)

The International Water Ski Federation will be holding a Coaching Seminar from 21-23 November 2008 in either Shanghai or Beijing. The disciplines include Slalom, Jump, Tricks, Wakeboard Techniques, Driving, Physical Training and Coaching Methodology.
